PLEASE READ EVERYTHING
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for coming out for our second annual spring performance, the Spring Showcase! We were so pleased with your auditions and we can’t wait to get started on WEDNESDAY!!!!!
As you can see from the amount of lists below, we are trying to get A LOT done in just six weeks so every single minute of every rehearsal counts. If you don’t think you are going to be able to commit to this show, we totally understand - we just ask that you EMAIL GRACE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to tell her that you are dropping out. Her email is [email protected] - again, we understand that somethings don’t work out, we just ask that you let us know so we’re not expecting you.
Unfortunately, because there is so little rehearsal time for this show, we really can’t afford absences. This was all explained extensively as auditions: with the exception of the finale that everyone is in, we will be learning the majority of our dances in ONE rehearsal. If you cannot make it to the ONE rehearsal for ANY reason (sickness included unfortunately), you simply cannot do that dance (when will you learn it?!). This is not how we typically operate, but time is of the essence and we don’t have enough rehearsal time to reteach things and fit you back into the dance if you miss rehearsal. We CAN work around leaving early or coming late, but within reason. If you are going to miss more than an hour of rehearsal for any of the dances, you may still be able to do that dance, but you might have to miss part(s) of the dance. We hope you can understand this position - if you have any scheduling issues or questions, please email Grace and we will hopefully be able to come up with a solution!
The schedule has already been posted! You can get to it by clicking the “Spring Showcase” tab at the top of the homepage. Our first rehearsal is WEDNESDAY for EVERYONE! We will be learning the Finale from 2:30-5:30. Again, if you need to miss a portion of the rehearsal (or any rehearsal), please email Grace as soon as you know.
Solo and duet performers will schedule rehearsals with Mr. V on an individual basis.
Now, please check EVERY list because your name may appear more than once. One new thing you will notice is a few numbers have people “on call” - these are mostly for those big group dances in case anyone is absent. If you are on call, you should still come to rehearsal if you are able - you might find yourself in the dance! Everyone is in the finale “All For One,” plus one or two extra numbers. Some eighth graders and a few others may be in more - reminder that all choices are at the discretion of the directors and should NOT be taken out on your peers. YOU GET WHAT YOU GET AND YOU DON’T GET UPSET! This is an extra performance opportunity that absolutely doesn’t need to happen so please show up to rehearsal as the best version of yourself - we will all have a better time! Please be kind to yourselves and others and we will see you tomorrow!
Grace, Mr. V (and Ms. P but you know, not really)
